How it works

Read the hour in three steps.

A Hora is one of 24 planetary hours in a traditional day. This is how the page finds the one you are in.

  1. 1

    Set your place.

Enter latitude, longitude and time zone, or tap Use my location once. The free preview runs in this browser and saves nothing.

  2. 2

    Split the day and night.

Your local sunrise and sunset mark the day and the night. Each is divided into 12 Horas, so the hours change length through the year.

  3. 3

    Name the ruling planet.

The first Hora after sunrise belongs to the weekday lord. The rest follow the traditional order: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon.

Good to know

What is a Hora?

A planetary hour. Tradition links each of the 24 hours in a day to one of seven planets and reads that hour through the planet’s nature.

Why is my Hora not exactly 60 minutes?

Horas follow your local sunrise and sunset. When days are long, day Horas run longer and night Horas shorter, and the other way round when days are short.

Is the free result saved?

No. Save current window sends your place to the server, which works out the Hora again and saves it to your account when you have Muhurta Ghadi or plan access.

Where can I see the whole day?

The full 24-Hora timeline is in the GrahaGuru app with a 30-day Muhurta Ghadi pass.

Should I plan important decisions by the Hora?

Use it as traditional context for reflection, not as a rule or a promise. For health, money or legal matters, speak to a qualified professional.
