Manglik Dosha Definition

Manglik Dosha (also called Mangal Dosha or Kuja Dosha) occurs when Mars is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from Lagna, Moon, or Venus. Approximately 50% of people have some form of this dosha. It's primarily considered for marriage compatibility, with both partners being Manglik considered ideal.

Cancellation Rules

Manglik Dosha is cancelled (negated) when:

  • Mars is in its own sign (Aries, Scorpio) or exalted (Capricorn)
  • Mars is conjunct or aspected by Jupiter
  • Mars is in the 2nd house in Virgo or Gemini
  • Both partners are Manglik
  • Person is born on Tuesday
  • 7th lord is strong and well-placed

Remedies

Kumbh Vivah

Symbolic marriage to a banana tree, peepal tree, or silver/gold idol of Lord Vishnu before actual marriage.

Hanuman Worship

Visiting Hanuman temple on Tuesdays, reciting Hanuman Chalisa, and offering sindoor.

Mangal Mantra

Chanting "Om Kraam Kreem Kraum Sah Bhaumaya Namah" 108 times daily.

Fasting

Fasting on Tuesdays and donating red items like masoor dal, red cloth, or copper.
