Dosha Definition
Dosha (Sanskrit: दोष, "fault/defect") is an astrological affliction or planetary imbalance in a birth chart. Doshas are caused by specific planet placements that create challenges in particular life areas. Common doshas include Manglik Dosha (Mars), Kaal Sarp Dosha (Rahu-Ketu), and Pitra Dosh (ancestral karma). Each has prescribed remedies.
Common Doshas

Kaal Sarp Dosha
All planets hemmed between Rahu and Ketu. 12 types exist based on the Rahu-Ketu axis position.
Pitra Dosh
Ancestral karmic debt, typically Sun afflicted by Rahu. Remedied through Shradh and ancestral worship.
Nadi Dosha
Same Nadi (Adi, Madhya, Antya) in both partners' charts during matching. Considered serious for compatibility.
