What is Gochar?
गोचर - Gochar (Transit)
Planetary Transits in Vedic Astrology
Gochar Definition
Gochar (Sanskrit: गोचर, "movement of grahas") means planetary transit - the current positions of planets as they move through the zodiac, relative to your birth chart. In Vedic astrology, transits are analyzed from your Moon sign (Rashi) to predict current and upcoming life events, timing opportunities, and challenges.
Important Gochar (Transits)
Saturn Transit (2.5 years per sign)
Most impactful transit. Saturn over Moon sign triggers Sade Sati (7.5 years). Saturn in 4th/8th creates Shani Dhaiya.
Jupiter Transit (1 year per sign)
Guru Gochar brings opportunities for growth. Jupiter in 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th from Moon is generally favorable.
Rahu-Ketu Transit (18 months per sign)
Shadow planet transit brings karmic events, unexpected changes, and spiritual lessons.
Moon Transit (2.5 days per sign)
Fastest moving planet. Moon in 1st, 3rd, 6th, 10th, 11th from natal Moon is auspicious. Basis for daily Rashifal.
